Resume is the first channel to get you to interview. Resume gives the first impression on you. Review your resume before processing to any company. Attach covering letter while sending your profile to any company. Your resume can either be in MS Word format or PDF. Here are the few basic points which will help you in writing it effectively.
Remember that there will be many who would have applied for a particular position and the hiring manager will have few seconds to validate your profile. Hence keep it short and effective. Don’t try to fit too many information and don’t try to sell too much. So avoid paragraphs. Make bullet points. Also tables are out!

You can mention your hobbies and interest.
Use simple language. It is very important to cross check your spelling and grammar are correct.
Use enough white spaces so that it looks neat and each category is easily identified. Also bullets must be aligned accordingly.
Maintain the same font thought your resume. Keep headline and subtitles in Bold and little bigger font size than the remaining body. Font size should be medium and readable. Commonly used fonts are Times New Roman,Arial, Helvetica or Verdana. Colour should be black.
