You need to make your Twitter Employer friendly.

  • Have a precise Job Expectation in your Twitter Profile which is limited at 160 characters
  • Use a professional looking Avatar
  • Tweet regularly about Job Search adventure
  • Please try to have a great looking Twitter background that utilizes empty spaces of Twitter page and promotes your skills. (If you don’t know, then you can start with this free template)

Know Who Is Looking For Talent

You will see millions of people on twitter. But, How do you know that if anyone is looking for future employees? Carefully search for people who are searching for talented people for hire. There are many who may be looking for You! You should do the following while you choose people to be your contacts.

  • Check their Bio
  • Their profile details
  • Who are their followers and what they tweet
  • Do check for their credibility

e.g.@craigslistjobs – CraigsList Jobs, @jobingatlanta – Job tweets specifically on Jobs in Atlanta etc

Follow Real Time Search Results

Twitter has this amazing feature where you can tag tweets and make them part of trending topics. There so many of them such as #jobs, a real time topic where you can see all tweets tagged as #jobs. This is a really powerful facility that Twitter gives you. No other Social Network ever though about such de-centralized way of tagging tweets with topics whether or not you are contacts with them. You can passively watch what’s happing on these trending topics and discussions for hours!
