Hair – Your hair should be clean and combed.

Fragrance – few people are allergic to certain fragrances. Hence wear a fragrance which is mild and at the same time removes body odor.

Dress up formally - Should be in formal wear. It has to be clean and neatly pressed. Avoid heavy make ups and flashy colored suits.

Shoes – Need to have a pair of formal shoes ready for the interview. Keep them clean and polish before attending interview.

Pen – Need to carry a good pen in your pocket (men) or handbag (woman).

Phone – Turn Off your mobile or keep in silent mode before entering the conference/interview room. Never attend any phone calls during the interview.

 How to dress for Interview?

Introduce Yourself – Stand up and greet your interviewer with a firm handshake and introduce yourself with your name. Maintain eye contacts.

Present Yourself – Tune up your body posture. Don’t slouch or hang sideways in your chair. Adjust the seat so same level of the interviewer so that interviewer and you have straight eye contacts. Sit straight and comfortable, don’t be stiff. You can adjust your body postures, make little movements which shows that you are paying attention.

Keep Resume Copies – Carry your resume with you and hand over to the interviewer.

Request your interviewer to share his/her Business card.

Thank the interviewer after the interview and send a nice thank you note.

Follow these carefully and you would see a considerable improvement in how you attend the interviews and a lasting impression that you could have on the person who is interviewing you.
